Novel writing is the highest form of art. Art can only be wealthy when it has the living heartbeats of humanity and includes the consciousness of life and the universe. In Sameen Kiran's writings, one can hear the heartbeat of a person, and the consciousness of time and space flows like a gently moving river. She has something to say, and in her bag, she holds a treasure of words that can convey thoughts and feelings to the reader.

"Ik Maadoom Kahani" is a tragic tale of the mismatched connection and the resulting long-drawn conflict, complexities, and entanglements between a sensitive girl/woman of Eastern society and a boy/man tainted by the impurities of a patriarchal society. A tragic tale that is perhaps a part of this environment and society. But the greater tragedy is that no volcano erupts from the womb of this tragedy that could overturn this inequality.

Sameen Kiran has attempted to understand the era in relation to the human, and the human in relation to the era. In her work, there is also a conscious and subconscious comparison of the connections and separations between humans, eras, and societies.

The novel is filled with intricate events. One story branches out from another, yet they remain connected to the basic purpose and theme of the novel just as the branches of a tree grow in different directions, determining their own path of travel, yet remaining a part of the same tree. This is a quality of the novel that keeps the reader engaged from beginning to end.
