”Thus we see that the principle that existence precedes essence is a consequence of atheism and a justification for man's infinite freedom and autonomy. Acknowledging the existence of God means that man's essence and nature are predetermined, because God, being the Creator and Omnipotent, must have already known what an individual's possibilities are and what role he is to play. Thus, God being the Creator and Omnipotent implies a negation of human freedom. Conversely, if God does not exist, it would mean that the individual's possibilities and destiny are not predetermined. He is absolutely free to do whatever he wants. Thus, his existence will precede his essence. In short, as Dostoevsky says, if God does not exist, then everything is permitted. Sartre, unlike Nietzsche, has also tried to prove the non-existence of God philosophically. He says that if the concept of 'being-in-itself' and 'being-for-itself' is extended to infinity, the concept of God is formed. Therefore, for religious scholars, the identity of consciousness and object is an attribute of God. But this identity is impossible because consciousness is the negation of identity and identity is the negation of consciousness. Thus, the concept of God is a self-contradiction.“ (Sartre)
