You could call Bertrand Russell the last great philosopher of your history of philosophy. During his lifetime, his fame spread across all continents; his reputation was not limited to academic and intellectual circles but also reached the literati, artists, and the educated public. Today, as we knock on the door of the third decade of the twenty-first century, we see that Russell's opinion proved to be only partially correct, because although liberal ideas continued to flourish globally during the first six decades of the last century, a wind of change began to blow afterward. Initially, movements for the revival of religion began to become prominent among Muslims, and they were manifested in various ways in different parts of the Muslim world. Then religious trends also began to emerge in the Hindu and Christian worlds.

Anyway, this does not mean that the importance of this book by Russell has diminished. The importance of this book will remain as a collection of thoughts by one of the most prominent intellectuals of the twentieth century on the role of religion in our lives and the very nature of religion itself. In short, this is an important thought-provoking book that will continue to inspire a non-traditional way of looking at the world and life.

This book, like Russell's other books, has been translated into many languages of the world. The Urdu translation appeared late, but it is a standard and easy-to-understand translation. While reading it, one feels that the translator takes the readers along with him. He cares for the readers and is willing to help them understand the contents of the book.
